Sports Massage Syllabus

The main emphasis is on the Skeletal, Muscular and Neurological systems that have been covered in the massage diploma syllabus. Sports Massage techniques are invaluable for treating muscular conditions/injuries resulting from sports, occupational or hobbies/leisure activities.

Case studies underpin the practical element of the course.

Specific Techniques for Sports Injury and Rehabilitation Includes:

bulletNeuro muscular technique - N.M.T.
bulletStrain counter strain-(SCS)
bulletSoft Tissue Release (STR)
bulletCross fibre rolling, fascia release, friction and stretching.

Topics Covered Include:

bulletSports specific injuries, warm up and warm down, R.I.C.E.,
bulletHeat treatments - paraffin wax etc.
bulletExercise passive resistive and active, stretching M.E.T., and contra indications.

100 hours of guided learning is the minimum. Most students achieve at least 150 hours of study including lectures and practical work. A first aid certificate is a requirement.

The Sports Massage Therapy Diploma course runs on Sundays  
Deposits and course fees are non-returnable.
